"The San Diego Kid"

One Hundred Years Ago this month, August 30th, 1918, Teddy Samuel Williams was born at the Sunshine Maternity Home, on the  Southwest corner of University and Park in San Diego, Raised in a "California Bungalow" at 4121 Utah Street in North Park, young Ted dedicated himself to being "The Greatest Hitter That Ever Lived".  By the time "The Kid" left San Diego to join the Boston Red Sox he was well on his way to achieving that title and goal.  Only Babe Ruth can be rightfully considered in his league.
